Faces of Chance
When lines come to life
A moving chain becomes the outline of a face. A small movement changes the forehead, nose, mouth and chin, and suddenly a new character looks back at you. From this playful encounter with chance, you create your own drawings and a moving artwork to take home.

What to expect
Begin a face
Draw a freely imagined profile on a light-coloured A5 wooden board. It can be simple, unusual or full of imagination.
Give the line movement
A dark metal chain is fixed at two points. Between them, it forms a movable outline of the forehead, nose, mouth and chin.
Meet chance
With the board lying flat on the table, gentle movements change the profile. We pause, look closely and discover new characters.
Imagine what comes next
On paper, turn the emerging faces into portraits, comic characters or imaginary creatures. Take your chain face and drawings home with you.
Room to play, without pressure
No previous experience is needed. Observing small changes and finding your own ideas in them connects creative play with mindfulness. I offer suggestions and support; you decide what your character becomes.
A moving artwork to take home
We work on sanded, natural poplar plywood in A5 format with a movable metal chain. The board, chain and drawing materials are included in the price. A smartphone for taking reference photos is optional; you can take part fully without one.
Explore together
The workshop is for adults and young people who enjoy experimenting. It is in preparation, with the date and venue to follow. The small group leaves room for individual support and optional sharing.
